David Sontòn Caflisch *1974 born in Basel, grew up in Andeer. The most formative personalities during his apprenticeship as a violinist were Michael Gebauer, Ingolf Turban and Hansheinz Schneeberger. In Chur he founded the chamber ensemble musicuria in 1991, which became the ensemble ö! in 2002, of which he has been artistic director ever since. Despite reservations about an academic education as a composer, David then decided to do so and found in Isabel Mundry a person who awakened in him the joy of complex thinking. Among many others, Gerald Bennett and Magnus Lindberg deepened his understanding of composition. David lives with Eva and Balduin and Rodolfo von Salis in Bärschwil.
